How do I deposit HKD into my KGI Trading Account?
SCB DepositDirect Service
A new SCB bank account number (DepositDirect Account) is assigned EXCLUSIVELY
to each KGI client. You can deposit cash or cheque into this DepositDirect
Account at corporate express centres#, Moneylink
ATMs, or SCB's(www.standardchartered.com.hk)
or phone banking services. Within 2 bank service hours (except Saturdays)
after your depositing, the FULL deposit amount (except for cheque deposits)
will be added to your PP.

To start using the DepositDirect Service, please first note down your DepositDirect
Account Name and Number which can be found under "WebTrade"
"Preferences" "Personal Profile"
"Bank and Other Info.".
Alternatively, you can call our 24-hour InvestLine at (852) 2878-5555 or contact
your Investment Representative to find out about it.
Note:
- KGI does not accept any form of third-party fund deposits.
- For cheque deposit, client will be required to provide KGI (i) a cheque image clearly showing name of issuer; and (ii) bank deposit slip for verification.
- If client is unable to provide a cheque image, KGI may retrieve it from the depository bank at the expense of the client (subject to any fees chargeable by the depository bank).
- If a third-party deposit is identified, KGI reserves the right to return the rejected third-party deposit to the source of deposit.
- KGI shall not be liable for any bank charges, expenses and costs arising from the verification process or any interests, claims and damages arising from the delay in processing the deposit.
HSBC Bill Payment Service
HSBC Bill Payment Service allows you to transfer funds on-line into your
KGI Trading Account at any HSBC or Hang Seng Bank ATMs, or via HSBC's Internet
(www.hsbc.com.hk)
or phone banking services.
To start using the Bill Payment Service, please register KGI and your Trading
Account number at any ATM throughout HSBC and Hang Seng Bank networks in Hong
Kong, or via HSBC's Internet or phone banking services. Please follow instructions
on the screen or given by voices as applicable to select "KGI Asia
Limited" from HSBC's payee list under the bill payment category and
input your personal KGI 11-digit Payment Number.
Note:
- When making a payment, please ensure having entered an account type (01
for Cash Account, 02 for Margin Account, 21 for Futures Account) under the
"Bill Type" section.
PPS Services
You can use PPS by Phone or Internet services to deposit HKD into your KGI
Trading Account. In general, the deposited amount will be available for use
on the next business day.
i) PPS by Phone:
To register for a PPS account, you have to bring with you ATM card or credit
cards with ATM function to one of the PPS Registration Terminals. PPS Registration
Terminals are located at designated Circle K Convenience Stores, PCCW Shops
and AEON counters in all Jusco stores. Please go to "PPS
registration terminal location" finding out on terminal locations.
If it is the first time for you to use PPS by Phone to deposit HKD into
your KGI Trading Account, you first have to call 18011 (in English) to have
your merchant code and 11-ditgit Payment Number recorded. Each account can
get only a registration. Thereafter with a bill payment, you can call 18031
(in English) to make deposits into your KGI Trading Account. For user guidelines
to bill payment by phone, please refer to "How
to use PPS by Phone".

Other Deposit Methods
You can deposit into any of KGI designated bank accounts at
a Bank branch or an ATM or by the Bank's Internet or phone banking services,
wherever applicable. Please send the proof of deposit by one of the following
methods; the amount will be credited to your KGI Trading account after your
deposit is confirmed by the Bank:

- Funds deposited after 18:00 (HKT) Friday each week will only be credited
to your KGI Trading Account for value on the next business day after 09:00
(HKT) (i.e. excluding Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays) , which is
subject to the advice to KGI of clearance of such funds.

When is my Purchasing Power (PP) updated after I make a HKD
deposit?
If you deposit funds in between 09:00 and 18:00 (HKT) from Monday to Friday,
your PP will be updated within 2 hours. However, if you deposit funds at any
other time, your PP will be updated on the next business day after 09:00 (HKT).
Note:
- PPS services and Online Bank Bill Payment Services (exclude HSBC, Hang
Seng and Wing Bank) are excluded
How do I withdraw HKD from my KGI Trading Account?
Complete and submit an on-line Fund Withdrawal form found
under "WebTrade" "Settlement"

- With HKD withdrawal via Electronic Funds Transfer, you should notify KGI
before the cut-off time 13:40 (HKT)*
for it to be effective on the same day.
- With HKD withdrawal by cheque, if receivers are the following banks: Bank
of China (Hong Kong), Hang Seng Bank,
HSBC and Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong), you should notify us before
the cut-off time 13:40 (HKT)* for it
to be effective on the same day.
- With HKD withdrawal by cheque, if receivers are other banks, you should
notify us the by 1 cut-off time 13:40 (HKT)*,
on one business day before the effective day.
All withdrawal amounts (after deducting the relevant transaction fee) will
be deposited into your designated HKD bank account previously registered with
KGI.
Note:
- Cheques should be made payable to you in HKD and will be deposited into
your designated HKD bank account previously registered with KGI.
- KGI does not issue cheques payable to third party other than client’s name and does not transfer funds to any bank account which bears the name of third party.
- You would be liable for a service charge on HKD deposits carried out via
Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) by your banks as receivers.
Please kindly check with your bank for further information.
- Withdrawal of sales proceeds on physical share deposit(s) will require
verification of registration by the Central Clearing and Settlement System
(CCASS). Normal processing of it will take 12 business days (HKT) while
Express processing (subject to approval by the respective Registrar ) will
take 6 business days (HKT) with additional registration and handling fees.

Will I receive interest on my credit balance with KGI?
KGI Cash and Margin account clients will be given 0.001% p.a. interest rate
for a daily credit balance of HKD 10,000. A credit balance that falls below
HKD 10,000 on any given day will not be entitled to any interest on that day.

Notes:
- No daily credit interest will be earned on other currencies other than
the HKD, USD and RMB currencies.
- KGI uses Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong)'s current HKD or USD savings

are not fixed and subject to change from time to time without prior notice.
- KGI will pay interest to cash deposited in securities accounts. The accrued
interest will be credited to clients' cash accounts only When it is accumulated
to HKD10 or more.

How do I deposit USD into my KGI Trading Account?
When you make USD deposit to HSBC (HK) account, please send the proof of
deposit by one of the following methods; the amount will be credited to your
KGI Trading account after your deposit is confirmed by the Bank:

How to calculate the negative interest fee on my daily credit balance(s) of Japanese YEN in my KGI Trading Account?
With effect from July 1, 2017, negative interest fee on daily credit balance of Japanese YEN in securities accounts is 1% p.a. Such fee accrues on a day-to-day basis and is deducted from the account on the last day of each month.
KGI uses our custodian bank’s fee as reference only and it is subject to change from time to time without prior notice.

What is the cut-off time of fund transfer request between my KGI accounts?
You should notify KGI before the cut-off time 14:30*(HKT) for the fund transfer request to be effective on the same day. Otherwise, it will be processed on the next business day.
